Afraid I am not convinced. You still have to put your faith in the company holding the gold which is clearly not the ETF as the response cleverly skirts around. So if it is like HXXX for example, you might want to talk to an Argentinian who held a US dollar denominated account in HXXX 10 years ago. Asked how much of his money he got back after the meltdown in US dollars.
