My understanding is that you see Comsec in brokerage data as opposed to top 20 holdings. Generally the Top 20 reflect the entities who own the shares, though often sophisticated or institutional investors have their shares held by the likes of BNP Paribas Nominees..

The figures for BNP Paribas reflect all of the entities they hold shares in EXR on behalf of. Interesting that the holdings are up 123%, and Citicorp Nominees up 108%. You can never know for sure what's going on under the covers but at a guess you'd have to think a broker inside Citicorp and/or BNP are recommending a buy on EXR. Smart brokers!!!!
