pg 54 - To counteract the upward trend of construction costsdue to the shortage of skilled workers, we supplyprefabricated wall elements or novel types of bricks thatcan be laid more quickly and even by masonry robots. Inthe Wienerberger Building Solutions Business Unit, robotsare also used upstream of the construction site, i.e. inproduction. The use of robotics helps us achieve a higherdegree of precision and reduce potential hazards.

R&Defforts are focused on non-combustible, perlite-based insulatingmaterials. The first products have already reachedmarket maturity. Cooperation with Interbran opens up anew field for Wienerberger’s business in the roof, wall andfacade segments.In the course of our ongoing innovation efforts, weare intensively exploring the possibilities of masonry robotsand prefabrication. Our vision is to offer our customersan all-in wall solution that speeds up the work ofbrick-laying and the erection of walls, reduces costs and, atthe same time, offers the advantage of increased safety, efficiencyand quality. In cooperation with various stakeholders,including well-established businesses, start-upsand universities, the first prototype of an innovative masonryrobot for use on construction sites has been designed.The objective is to develop this solution to marketmaturity as a response to the increasing shortage of skilledlabor on construction sites.
