Sorry I had to calc this, say you sold 500,000@ 42.5cents = $212,500
Assume its all profir and no CGT discount. Thats around $131,750 after tax.

You now say you re-bought 500,[email protected] (lets say you guessed the bottom) = $172,500


You acutally spent more in this instance, you've paid the tax man and your repurchase is still well over the profit...unless i've f'ed something up isnt that the straight forward strategy if you purely trading these stocks.

Only way you've come good is if all your shares were CGT 50% discount - but now you've played that card and have to wait another 12months.
