Sophisticated investors? You don't have to be very sophisticated to buy shares at a big discount and dump them for a neat profit virtually immediately.
Let's face it, the company needed money quickly and to get those numpties to part with it, we had to give them a lolly. Similar to Pavlov's dogs.
