Believe shorting is happening in small caps when you see actual evidence of it as it is very unusual. Most small cap stocks are not available to short as I understand it.

Chavosh you say it very categorically as though it did happen and you have seen evidence of it, can you share the broker data that shows this please? Anyone who uses a broker and has a good relationship with them can ask them to glance at and print off that data for free, but they (and everyone) can only see what happened a couple of days back making it impossible to categorically say things like a drop today or yesterday was caused by shorters. Data is only available once things (trades) settle I believe.

The place most shorters operate is in Mid Tier or large cap companies with lots of stock available.

Volatile bigger companies are perfect for shorters the two being an unusual combo but its why companies like Musks Tesla is so commonly a target of shorters and why he hates them. Tesla is volatile and Major Cap, perfect.

On discussion on all ASX companies on HC we see reported shorters, leakers, bots, there is no end of conspiratoral dark forces that suppress a stocks true value in the minds of shareholders when the price is dropping.

But when it goes up nobody complains or sees anything untoward, its just natural market forces! ha ha!

Nothing goes up in a straight line. We are in the spec sector in a new style (for Aussie investors) of mining and exploration, the PGE sector. Everyone is still learning their way around and starting to trust the modeling that shows these things are almost always widespread and massive. But investors in this new sector go through periods of nerves like in all new sectors.

Ive done hundreds of hours of reading and asked everyone I can for angles on this PGE thing and Im comfortable with my investments but not everyone invested is so calm or so sure about it which is fine, its natural we are all different.
