of course a country such as Oz would know if you were from somewhere else - entered on say eg ------ a Japanese passport - then, you applied for citizenship in Oz and got it
I have a friend who did just that --------------- and Australia demanded that he give up his Japanese citizenship before they would grant him citizenship
so - he did - he gave up his Japanese citizenship -
lo and behold ----------- Australia then decided not to give him Ozzie citizenship
wow
that made him stateless - living in Oz
aren't the Ozzie immigration department wonderful???
after a long time - of rooting around - they eventually made him a citizen of Oz
it showed me 'again' - that you just cannot trust Australia -
as now - we have ample evidence all around us - by locking out our citizens - by locking in our citizens ----------- all sorts of really dumb and dangerous precedents
but, - Ozzies accept it - and SCOMO even has his defenders --------- amazing but true
