In the Police the same ideas around team were and still are promoted. Usually the different teams elect to have ties that they design within their squad or branch. To acquire the tie you need to be a qualified member of the team and purchase it yourself. These ties are much coveted and a source of pride and because of small production runs not inexpensive.
This arises from the fact that police are public servants and the giving of freebies is not acceptable.
Shareholders also are not employees and the bottom line is companies are about making profits equally for all shareholders. To do this giving freebies to employees to create team work and morale assists with that objective. Giving freebies to shareholders does not advance company profits.
The idea that you have enough money to invest in the stock market but not enough money to buy a commemorative AKD1000 chip is a little difficult to accept unless your the homeless guy who keeps buying one share at a time trying to build a portfolio.
We have different perspectives because of different experiences neither is right or for that matter wrong.
Perhaps we should have a means tested Hot Copper poster Brainchip/AKIDA team tie or scarf.
