    Centamin Egypt Ltd. (TSX:CEE). Miner. Up 30 cents, or 21.43 per cent, to $1.70 on 14,366,269 shares. Shares closed at a historical high on rumours that the company, based in Perth, Australia, is set to be taken over by either the world's biggest gold producer, Barrick Gold (TSX:ABX) or the second-largest gold company, Newmont Mining Corp. (TSX:NEM).
