The USA is far closer to us than any other potential super power with regard to political system, economic system, rule of law, language, religion, social norms etc. As I said, we are lucky to be living in a period where that is the case.

Keep complaining about the USA pintohoo, but from an Australian perspective, they are far and away the best result for us in relation to the current potential superpower crop. That much is fact.

As far as the Pacific goes, I'd much rather the USA be interfering, self serving busybodies than allowing China free reign to do the same. That's where your logic simply implodes, because if the Yanks don't act like that, the Chinese will fill the void and do the same. it's one or the other, who would you rather?
