Just some interesting research. If you look at:
    • the dates parliament was sitting in 2021,
    • then look at when NEAT applications which include a joint authority decision and more specifically the suspension, extensions, variation applications were decided on,
then one could form two conclusions:
    1) Applications are predominantly decided on whilst parliament is sitting. and
    2) WA-525-P was decided on quite a few weeks after parliament was sitting, however I think this is an outlier considering the NOPTA office was closed for a week during Christmas etc. The AC/P66 application was decided on two weeks after parliament was sitting which means NOPTA might have a two week delay from when Keith Pitt decides to when they certify and publish the outcome.

It is pretty clear to me that parliament sitting is very well correlated to suspension, extension and variation applications and there may be up to a 2 week delay for NOPTA to certify with the exception of during Christmas time.

I agree with the view that the decision might be done after the by election: https://thewest.com.au/politics/upper-hunter-by-election-voting-begins-c-2801795 on the 22nd of May 2021.
