TC - thanks, a nice segue for me, by you mentioning the fact that we are so unknown to many...even the experts, a good high school mate rang me on his way to work in Sydney just this morning. My friend is an Anesthetist with a number of years experience. He has heard of Pentosan but didn't know about the repurposing trials and that of PAR.

I asked him a theoretical/hypothetical question, sure it's probably more a question for a Rheumatologist and that too someone with more of a research bias, but I asked him the following to get his thoughts as he deals with pain management on a daily basis:

"In terms of actions of a given drug showing some good efficacy in the serum in terms of positive downward effect on OA biomarkers such as COMP and ADAMTS-5, on the assumption that this drug effectively penetrates through to the synovium and granted that we expect to see a typical many fold increase of the same bio markers in the synovium (compared to the serum in an OA patient), would one be able to surmise an increase in efficacy or at least something similar in terms of reduction on the said biomarkers as a percentage?".

My highschool buddy basically admitted that it was too complex to answer and that's one of the reasons for the study would be to observe the effect.

Under the radar for a bit longer sure, this will change over time.
