Hi Dave,

There is a bit of confusion on forums about an article that appeared in The Advocate. Given that the Wivenhoe plant mentioned is Intec's Burnie Demo plant would you please clarify the "15-year waste stockpile of possibly 150,000 tonnes"?

How long has the stockpile been accumulating? Is the 150,000 tonnes really only about 150,000 kilograms?

Hi Mango,

The article in the Advocate was a pleasing response to Intec coming 'runner up' in the 2009 Small Business Sustainability Award, part of the Tasmanian Awards for Environmental Excellence.

The article was correct in stating that the stockpile has been accumulating for approximately fifteen years. Having said this, it did contain one important error, quoting the quantity of sludge being processed as 150,000 tonnes, rather than approximately 100,000 litres.

Brian Banister participated in several interviews on Thursday following from the Award recognition. We hope to be able to provide links to other articles in the near future.
