While I do enjoy a bit of inter state rivalry please be accurate with the facts.
GST and our share is a touchy topic in WA. We wern't even getting 40c back for every dollar we paid into the National GST bucket, whilst our sisters and brothers in Tassie were getting $1.75 for ever dollar they paid.
The adjustment to the model ensure no state ever falls as low as WA every again and any state will only ever receive 70c for every dollar they contribute to the GST bucket.Under this new model, a 70-cent floor will be established in 2022-2023 — so no state or territory can fall below that mark.
