Long before there was talk of the Airtasker IPO Mr Fung had said multiple times that Airtasker could only work in Australia as Australians are inherently trusting of strangers and lazy which made the platform a good fit.

Every attempt to expand in the UK and USA had failed and increasing marketing in both markets had never increased the uptake on the platforms. In the UK people always had family or friends nearby who could help out with tasks, unlike Australia where family units can be split between capital cities.
