A couple of states want to manufacture their own mRNA vaccines.
the government said they are in talks with 'manufacturers' being more than one.
Victoria are said to be the first mRNA manufacturer in Aus, but potentially there could be a few states looking to set up shop.
Aus needs to manufacture as much as they can as quickly as they can, so if that means funding a few then that benefits everyone.
watch this space. states are extremely competitive so I would guess that several might receive some kind of funding.
IDT are still front runner being more established, and the Vic government already announcing 50mil funding weeks ago won't be going away.
