It's not at all complicated a concept:
If you owned a widget factory and you had 18 months ago given more of your money to the people who you had hired to run your factory - because they said they needed funds to increase the stockpile of widgets ahead of an increase in sales - then presumably by now you would be wanting to know where those higher sales are.
Or, if there were no higher sales, then where the stockpile of widgets was being stored.
Pretty reasonable questions, I would have thought.
