I really can't see Labor being worse but all the same we need robust checks and balances in place to prevent the long term harm done by P.M.s not seeing the bigger picture. We can't have a Gillard putting in place a dead stop on live exports( though I don't agree with live meat exports) or an Abbott that short sightedly cost us an entire industry and cut pacific Aide letting China get a foot hold in the region or a Morrison that did his chest thumping that gave us a massive reduction in exports to China. IMO Morrison has done alot more damage to our economy than the Pandemic on it's own could have done and he's proven himself unable to show sound judgement too many times so for many it will be hard to see him as anything other than a liability to economic recovery.
People will always have in the back of their minds the call for an investigation into the origins of the Covid-19 out break in China, something that would have happened anyway and the Robodebt nastiness that for a long time he defended which was finally proved illegal, so nobody will spend much more than the minimum in the economy when they remember Morrisons track record. When people remember those incidents and others like his handling of the Australia Post watches and not taking the initiative on establishing fit for purpose Quarantining Facilities they will rightly not trust he will really have their backs and he's never capable of ever arriving at an even remotely reasonable position on anything without considerable intervention by others which begs the question, what is the point of Morrison even being the P.M. in the first place.
In the end all things considered IMO we would be better off without the millstone of Morrison's incumbency after the next election. Labor just has to be worthy of being given a chance and by Albaneses response to the Budget they seem a better bet than the Liberals at this time. I don't expect miracles but as I see it a rational thought process beyond political damage control seems to be challenge for the Liberals.
