Rony ... can impending litigation re who owns the commercial rights to a patent prevent the publication of results of scientific research in serious medical journals (outside the public arena)? I would have thought not (although I'm no lawyer so maybe I'm missing something).

However, that Abstract info indicates that the paper is due for publication on 29th June so we should know soon.

Yes (more speculation) but an out of court settlement does sound great ... and I don't share your gloomy predictions for the future.
