Hate to tell you, but i traveled extensively through the mid east in the late 60's , when Beirut was the pearl of the mediterranean, and Baghdad was simply the most sophisticated place on earth. And Palestine was a very happy society, people were extraordinarily friendly and the clothes they wore were the brightest and most colorful anywhere. Syria was a different story but it held the worlds greatest treasures of ancient structures and artifacts. The Israelis were jealous as all heck, they got where they are now by prostituting to the US , but like any whore you wouldn't trust em to not rob you blind while you slept
