Someone mentioned that the minister was very young (in his 30's?). All that was said is dont believe everything you read in the paper (news). We will know soon enough. The Directors were diplomatic about the issue and didnt diminish or mock the greenlandics environmental fears at all. They seem to respect the locals and are trying to allay their issues.

In fact the Westrip rep asked if the town of Narssaq could be moved or bought (apparently this occurred in GL years ago where a mining company bought and relocated a town). Jeremy replied that this may be possible for any mining company but GGG want to "find a way to their hearts". Uprooting locals wouldnt be the answer. I liked the way this was addressed.

Jeremy stated that all in all the company have a good relationship with the people of Narrsaq. No major demonstrations or issues have been evident at all.

If I was a betting man I would say that any decision to mine or ban mining will be suspended pending the release of the environmental study. Wouldnt that be a massive win?!
