Following are a few translated posts from (I presume)Greenland locals in regards to Kvanejfeld direct from the Sermitsiaq website. The english tanslation isnt great but its interesting to read local opinion isn't totally against the proposed mine. See below...

    ---------

People in Narsaq lack of jobs - and the majority believe that: If the safety of citizens Narsaq ensured, then the city's citizens positrons rigid. Until now, the debate has only been promoted by non-existent interest. This has meant countless Graells "scare stories" - and no real facts. Unless real "desire" of these public figures is that we must live as a living Frilandsmuseum for honest citizens who want to keep their holidays in Narsaq - then we should deal with this unique opportunity. One possibility for the creation of jobs, the possibility of revenue for our country and the welfare / wealth - even for small in our society. Let us meet and discuss our situation locally. Finding all the arguments - for and against - the possible extraction of uranium oxide before we take a decision. What would happen if a mine is established? How will it happen? What about our leisure? How to maintain the security of citizens? How to ensure a restoration after mining? How can we move into the wild? What impacts will happen - and above all: What security measures and precautions, a mining company vouch for? Connect now all the 'Fear & Facts "and we can deal with a decision. We live in a dying city with a grotesque lack of jobs. A greeting from a citizen in Narsaq - as yet for or against.

@ Henrik Lund Andersen "Another hypothetical - but equally relevant - questions you could ask the alleged uranium is a by-product or whether the uranium is actually the only after funnel significant substance in this instance - could be to imagine that mining company is not allowed to profit from uranium, but for example. return it quits and freely to the authorities. " Genial idea! In general we would be much more cash and bastante against foreign companies. If you want to make mining in Greenland, to produce aluminum, or whatever, it can be appropriate to begin to put x number of millions. Alcoa project, for example, has a time horizon of 40 years + and I assume, give a great return to Alcoa concern. So my point that companies such as Alcoa might deposit / payment of one billion (I think it sgu) for the Greenlandic society. So we have something out of it from the beginning and must ikek worry so much about our 'brilliant' policy makers will be dried a certain place by a little too smart investors. Now we hear so Kvanefjeldet has the largest presence of rare earth metals and that so far has only been China which has produced this metalart. Without knowing anything of metals, it sounds to me as if it can quickly become a profitable business, why I in principle do not see any obstacle to the Australian company put the box up front. And if they are interested, well then we are living well with a beautiful mountain. The point is: Let us now see any money from all the companies! And set a precedent by only work with companies who are willing to share the cake with the Greenlandic society. Las us play "naivety card." It assumes that we are a small people going up the seal and the ICC and which will only allow foreign activity if we are amply compensated for the destruction of our natural environment. This requires of course that we are prepared to stand firm and we do not panic if some companies to withdraw.
