This will be big news in the US, even if most of the reporting their is mostly quite shallow the photo op of the President at the Ford Plant will make sure this gets run in all the news services.
How many years will it be before Scomo dares get in a picture with an electric car. I reckon if you offered him and Frido a run in the latest Tesla
(an opportunity most blokes would jump at) they would refuse to get in for fear of what the far right in their party and their fossil fuel doners would say and think.
We need to ban lobby groups (be they fossil fuels keeping us firmly fixed in the past century or the sugar industry making our kids fat and Australia one of the most obese nations on earth) from making donations to political parties.
Too many special interest groups skewing political decisions towards self interest and away from whats in the nation interest.
