Well I'm glad my humorous David Boon analogy provided a laugh. If only a few investors applied the same forensic analysis to NOR they might have saved some dough.
My reference to NOR's history was to the SP performance and the financial metrics. NOR has failed to capitalise on prior opportunities, which is ominous for any current and future prospects.
To you question: If your company was in its death throes would you put in $200k on the small hope of saving it?
The factors are too broad for an answer to mean anything. Depends how rich I was. Depends on the probability of recovery. Depends on psychological factors.
Contex is key. Normally insiders with skin in the game is deemed positive. However in NOR's dire situation, PO has coughed up because there's no more cards to play. Hardly positive. I agree with Wanty, and that 200K is potentially not much for PO especially considering tax implications. Incidentally PO's investment may actually alter his behavior, and produce desirable results.
People engage in self-sabotaging activities all the time. Plenty of people would burn 200K without blinking to satisfy some emotional and psychological need. I believe PO could actually fall into this category after all (ref Ego); I perceive he's too ideological and too emotionally attached to NOR's current direction, especially his voice mail app. It's probably a great app, but it doesn't make any money.
