Huge Tesla factory in Texas (mulitiples of this size plant) was started after, and will probably be finished prior to just the EIS process in the NT for our facility. Tesla also got $68 million in tax breaks to locate it there.
Obviously NT needed to be sure of the impact on the harbour and water supply, but all these studies of flora and fauna are a complete farce ! Accounting for birds that are all over the region and can easily move on? This is just as ludicrous as the native potato issue at the mine site. It should be up to the NTEPA to find any endangered fauna or flora - and then locate industrial zones accordingly, not be up to TNG to account for every friggen species of plant or animal in the NT.
The Minister and Chief Minister are derelict in their duty if they haven't got on the phone and gotten this through at this stage - after this much work to account for the impact on the environment.

Also pathetic for PB to release the perfunctory release yesterday with no detail whatever on what the more information request may be about. Is it related to the unfinished FEED study? One lizard living on the hill that might have to relocate? Not using Roundup in the weed mitigation plan? People are assuming the worst. The fact they don't have a team of PR/IR specialists to handle this better..... time to ditch the truly ineffectual, largely invisible and hopeless Read Corporate IMO.
