I cant get staff, in a quite large SA country town, I had 9 interviews lined up and only 4 showed up..
If the work is part time , the advantages of working, including mental health, reason to get up, a purpose (its not just $$) weigh against the disadvantages of working, could be loss of benefits, extra child care costs, transport costs etc ..
The fact the cost of living has risen so much, is the reason the Dole, or benefits need to be at a certain level to keep people from poverty... Rentals, fuel, power, etc have risen far higher than inflation .
So what is the answer?
Is there an answer?
If benefits only last 3 months, what then? If no food, shelter etc, what about the children of those families etc ... no easy solution at all
