Totally understand your point. I look to buy good strong companies on weakness or when I see a lot of favorable indicators align in the charts.
I always trade with a stop loss in case I'm wrong. Whether investing or trading you need to stick to your plan.
Fundamentals will tell me what to buy, and the chart will tell me when to buy. I do fundamentally like VMT and it's current set up looks good. However (in the bigger picture) I am seeing the consumer discretionary sector looking a little weak at present.
