Hi Listernz. Appreciate the feedback on an ev in Australia.

The average Aussie does 10-15 ,000 kms per year so you are above the average distance traveled. That's interesting.

In that time, how many times do you think you have publicly charged ?

I agree about the common sense of having a decent stop to recharge ( you and the car smile.png ) while traveling . We all stop on big trips. Those that reckon they don't are bs-ers in my view.

The only thing I would say about that is that I'm sure it requires a little planning in Australia. Fast chargers aren't everywhere yet so I'm sure it means altering the route to suit the charging. Not a problem on the major routes but I guess it does require a little thinking beforehand.
I was staying in a motel in the Vic high country recently. There was a Model 3 owner next door with a lead running from his car under the door into his room obviously topping up over night. That's the reality I guess when you're out in the sticks.

Do you religiously charge every day or are you more relaxed about it after owning the car for a while ?

I look at the wireless charging pads becoming available overseas. I reckon that would be a no brainer for me. No forgetting to plug in. Just park and charge automatically at a programmed rate.

The quietness of an ev is another thing that really doesn't get mentioned. Like many other things we have been conditioned to in urban life, noise from vehicles is one we don't notice. Until it's gone, that is.

During the Covid lockdown, I noticed how nice and quiet it was around town. Absolutely peaceful because of much reduced traffic.

It would be good for that to come back again.
