Agreed - with all of the early option conversion the past few months or so, it is not simply a case of them starting the CGT discount timer.
There is something else at play here - blackout period makes a lot of sense, and there seems a strong possibility of a substantial buyout offer well inside the 12 month CGT timeframe. If it was strictly a licencing deal, there would be less urgency to the option conversions surely.
