An interesting statement made last year, from RIO'S former chief of exploration in regards to Winu & the Ngapakarra prospect 2km west of Winu:

"It is a different style of mineralisation - gold dominated, or gold only in some cases,...

"What we need to do is unpick what does that mean. How is this connected - if it is - to Winu itself, or is it a very different style and phase? And what does that mean in terms of exploration potential and targets in the belt more broadly?"

"So our original thesis that here is a district play I would say is still absolutely valid. And that is what really excites me. I think that we can be here and be very productive for a long time,"


It's really interesting that 2 prospects could be side by side 1-2km's apart, but could be totally unrelated with different styles of mineralisation. I think this may be the case for a number of prospects in the Paterson
