If you want to understand the challenges (or opportunities) for data annotation companies like Appen, then you need a base level of understanding of what they actually do and the actual value they add.

I thought that I made that clear but I've obviously underestimated the level of confusion there is in the space that they exist.

I'll clarify some of the misconceptions below.

    a) I have no intention to down ramp the share. I'm not Elon Musk tweeting about cryptocurrency. The sentiment of what I'm stating here has absolutely no impact on the APX price. From my perspective, the vast majority of shareholders would be brokers & investment funds, looking to make money APX due to it's rise and fall. My intention here was to simply understand the level of knowledge (of the actual product) that people who HODL to a share in an area that I know a lot about. So far that knowledge appears to misunderstand the fundamentals of what they do.

    b) I've never stated that I can predict where the share is going longer term. I've clearly stated that my background isn't in trading, the market sentiment will largely sway which direction that APX goes in. I've stated that I believe the bottom to be yet to come, most likely at $8-9. If you want to understand some of thought behind valuing APX, read the article I posted.

    c) In order for you to understand Appen's products/services, you need to have a base level of understanding of what they actually do. I've tried to explain this in simple terms but I overestimated the misconceptions of what their customers produce (AI & ML models) and the value that they add to those products (tailored training data).

    d) I've not stated whether I'm a successful entrepreneur - just that is the path I've chosen. I've invested in myself, my family and my own business. In 2015, I could have invested $10k in APX and made $1Mil after a few years. I knew that APX would obviously go up, but I had no way of knowing how quickly or by how much. I did know though though that it would go up then fall, so whatever I made I made in the short-term may not be as valuable as what I invest in myself in the longer term. An example is, fees at an ivy-league university may be $10-50k. That investment in the short-term won't make you $1Mil (unless you go the path of banking, like most graduates). However, in the long term you could generating income of $500k-$1Mil per year if you're successful in your career. Another example is, an unplanned medical procedure may cost $10k. I'd value the life of a family member as more than $1Mil. Another example is starting a business, timing the market can be everything.

    e) I've never offered to give you a crystal ball of where the price is going (other than where I view the bottom). If you want people to show you charts with lines, go to the chart thread. What I'm offering to explain is the fundamentals of Appen's business model and where I see the challenges over the next 5-10 years.

I'll explain what that is in another response, as the HC app often clears a response before I can post it.
