    Minotaur,

thanks for your thoughts. What I try to do with the morning preview is gather and condense any overnight developments that might dictate how the Australian market will perform in the coming session. True, all the information contained in the preview can be freely found on the Internet if you know where to look, have time to browse and have an idea what is likely to be relevant for the local market. But I have yet to find a free site that has all the information I want as a trader in a concise format in one place written from a trader's perspective. Essentially, all I do is dump the information I want as a trader into a post for the benefit of anyone else who finds it useful.

Where there are clear leads for our market - a breakout in the price of nickel, for example, or a collapse in oil futures - I try to point it out. In the past, I used to include specific stock tips but I dropped those because they naturally tended to be tainted by self-interest and I think it is worthwhile to start the thread each day with a "neutral" preview. If I had to guess why the morning preview is popular, I would say it's because people trust that I'm not posting purely to advance my own interests. (That's not to say I'm above doing that later in the day - I'm not nominating for sainthood here.)

If it's mainly beginners who benefit from the morning post, well I think that's great. I wish there had been something similar to help me in my first few years as a trader.

As for alerting readers to trades a day or two in advance, that's a great idea and there are dozens of trading ideas posted here every day. But bear in mind that this is the Day Trading thread and the perspective here is rarely much longer than a session or two.

Anyway, I'm grateful for your thoughts - thanks for your time and good luck with your trading.
