What make/model do you have & how much did it cost?
Personally I'm interested in the overall cost per year of
operating an EV vs an ICE of similar size.
IE:
-Initial purchase price
-insurance & rego
-R&M (incl tyres etc)
-depreciation (accounting for battery depletion)
etc.
IMO for a person travelling 10k kms a year the
new EV premium + the insurance premium is
not economically viable.
ICEs are becoming more fuel efficient by the year
just had a look at a 1 litre Ford & a 1 litre Kia at sub
$30K and their interior space was equivalent to a
$60K EV. IMO the extra $30 investment & the
$500/year extra for insurance is not economically viable
for a person motoring 10K to 12K kms p/a.
Perhaps the Chinese over the next few will resolve this price gap..eh?
The MG 3 EV is the cheapest on the market @ $42K drive away,
while he Koreans are closer $60K
