Hi Fellowes, yes I was referring to carbon emissions due to embedded energy and I did correct myself later on. I meant to say "in a totally 100% renewable environment, surely the carbon emissions due to embedded energy reduce to zero, do they not?". I agree costs will rise. Naturally.
But that is 'almost' irrelevant because costs will rise even more dramatically if we sit around on our arses paying attention to climate reclacitrants like Steve Fielding. Tim Flannery put it well on Lateline the other night. He was talking about meeting progressive business leaders all over the world who want to do something about the problem and then he always gets a shock when he comes back to home... he said something like "the climate denial dinosaurs are always bigger and uglier here in Australia".
