For those that don't entirely grasp the idea of Raspberry Pi... or what plugging a USB version of Akida into it can do.... here are my thoughts as a former professional gamer / hacker (not the 'evil' kind of hacking... i mean hacker in the sense of 'creating amazing things with what you have access to').
1. Opening up access to this kind of technology to the average "handy man" type nerd, which is basically what a raspberry pi owner is, means we will soon see a raft of weird / wonderful / new / amazing kinds of use cases for AI at the sensor. This will IMO will lead to dramatic adoption of and understanding of the benefits of AI at the sensor, and will encourage commercial entities to capitalise on this creativity.
2. In the context of gaming, and as a former professional gamer (what does gaming have to do with this you say??)... vanilla versions of tier one games (think of it as the 'initial offering from the vendor') tend to be well received and well played, but it is often the modifications (or 'mods') made to the game(s) that are even more well received than the vanilla versions. Once people become a little tired of the original format, the modifications basically extend the life of the original game, creating serious opportunities at scale (i.e. jobs/revenue streams for people to create these mods, industries leveraging 'the good bits' from these mods into future game design, thus propelling the quality of future game design). A lot of these kinds of things gain industry backing - because you're basically leveraging 'the creativity of the community at large'. These things become a life force of their own. You will end up with communities and industries devoted to the stuff. I would fully expect there (soon) to be communities/websites dedicated to sharing/promoting/selling AI models.
Embedding AI into the average consumer device is one thing, but making AI directly accessible to the average consumer in order for them to leverage their creativity is soooo amazing IMO. Imagine being able to develop your own use for Akida! Sign me up!!!
All in my opinion only.
