The gap could be a runaway gap or breakaway gap which under common TA wisdom, if accompanied by heavy volumes does not need to be filled. Gaps on the up usually get filled on a bad day like a very red DJIA. Yesterday we had a very red DJIA and yet the gap didn't get filled today. That tells me that sentiment strongly favours this stock.
