"Prime Minister Kuupik Kleist and his government recently issued a press release stating that while they accept that uranium is a naturally occurring substance, the zero-tolerance policy meant that mining could not be permitted in areas where uranium exceeds normal levels of background radiation."

Our only hope is for a miracle from left-field:

- Maybe some arm twisting by the Danes?
- Maybe the locals protest so strongly that the government caves in?

I don't see too many other options.
