Seems we have a few morality police on here whom believe you should not sell a share (that does not pay a dividend), to acieve a financial return or rewarded for your investment or trade, whichever the case may be.

Maybe they should look at their own morality. They are investing in a pharmaceutical company. Their perfectly moral compass should be telling them that the company they invest in profits from another persons illness, suffering and misery (or in the case of some, developing legal drugs that lead to death - not BTA so far thank goodness).

They cry out for SHAREHOLDER REWARD which would mean exploiting the sick and ill, regardless of their wealth, for the highest profit factor the market can bear. They want Governments to stockpile drugs which may never be used in the future at the cost of reducing contributions to welfare, providing food to the needy, and other more urgent health funding, etc. They cry for dividends to be paid out to them from these profits as this in their mind this is the only reward they can make from their shares (that is just - selling to another BTA shareholder is a no-no) and they are entitled to it.

These shareholders are not lining up to demand to GSK and BTA management that the developed drug should be used for the good of common man at the lowest cost (read = for free) especially the ones whom need it i.e. the poor third world countries. No, then they would not be rewarded. (As an aside they are the most vocal 'management bashers' and i would be surprised if they had contacted management full stop with their concerns).

However, sell your share at a profit at the expense of another shareholder (whom else could be at the expense of?) to gain what imo is a return or reward on your original investment and you are suddenly labelled a scam artists, pyramid seller, thief, etc. How's the moral compass now guys

For those shareholders, on their thinking, and we would not want them too take advantage of and make their money from another BTA shareholder, hell no, how immoral and bankrupt would they feel, i surely hope BTA pay them a dividend one day. Otherwise, they may as well wipe their ars* with the scrip as they are totally against making their reward from another BTA shareholder (hence will never sell).

Ohhhhh the company buyback, that was your out Miso et al, you would not be profiting from another shareholder (actually you would, all of us, but it would not be as direct as selling to a newbie). Or is it why you think (or hope) there may be a management buy-out because you'll take the nasty managements money, but not that of another shareholder. In the end though they will have to realise their shares by voluntary liquidation to keep there moral compass in tact.

Miso, your average purchase price is $1.20, can you live with yourself as you have now taken, albeit on paper (Abobo's view - not mine), $0.10 of reward per share off the poor old shareholder you bought your shares from (you know that other BTA shareholder you criticise me for making money from if and when i want to sell and take my reward - even though you do not know my facts), you exploiter you. What about you mjmj - i trust your purchase price is well above $1.30 to so you do not have to refer to your moral compass.
