I think it is interesting that people think that a partnership with a Big Pharma will be the saviour for this company. I am not so sure Pharma companies are particularly interested in taking this treatment forward.
Stanjupiter commented - 'Any positive findings re. fibrosis will be relevant to sclerodermatous skin GvHD, also a feature of chronic GvHD. You can see on UK Leukemia site, a mother who says her little boy has Jakafi and ECP but still has to use a pusher to get around for longer distances'.
Children are not dying. They are receiving Jakafi. The last thing Novatis wants is for these cells to be approved and their drug profits to be reduced to nil. They will fight any approvals (as we have seen). They will stall any agreement for as long as possible, frustrating shareholders so they sell out, and hopefully bankrupt this company. Pull out of the agreement and the share price drops putting more pressure on the existence of this company. Other cell companies will come along, but one at a time they will attack until their patent runs out.
I am prepared for Novatis is pull out. It's a great strategy on their part to get this IP at a cheap price and bury it for a few years.
How long is a person with cardiac failure kept alive with a truck load of medication? Give the cells and this is no longer necessary? What Pharma company wants this? Particularly those that sell the drugs that are used to slow down the progress of this disease. They do not treat. They slow down the progress. Keep them alive longer so they can take more drugs. What Pharma company wants this to come to an end?
What is Grünenthal doing with regard to lower back pain trial? How far are they along with this? No word. They will stall for as long as possible to keep this 'drug freeing' treatment from the market.
I fell very pessimistic about the progress of cells if we need to rely on Big Pharma for progress. There is very few treatments that cure. They merely treat symptoms. This is my opportunity to back a company that is trying to cure. My shares stay in my hands till the end of this 'war' we are fighting even if I lose every last penny. This is my contribution to a better health future.
