Great pickup! IMO your comments are spot on!

The toughest lessons I have had to learn since commencing my association with the share market in mid 2007 have included:
. IMO despite the public rhetoric no-one really cares about 'retail shareholders' - we're just a ready source of available, expendable & unsecured capital should the need arise & governments dismiss us as avaricious speculators to whom they have no responsibility unless it hurts them [as with ABC Learning]
. the extent to which The Market is manipulated - some time ago Trader10 documented a huge list of them, that revelation prompted me to watch for them & IMO they infest our boarse [trades for just 1 share etc is just one example ....]
. if our regulators are doing something about such manipulation it's news to me & I'm happy to have the proof presented
. I am not aware of any training organisations which publicly point out or explain these practices
. Governments only care about 'the banks' - all of their words / hot air consistently amount to no action / change.

My participation in The Market now includes a checklist with queries such as:
    . Is this a pump & dump?
. What role will the so-called 'market makers' play in this?
. What has been ordained by hedge funds & dark pools?
. Does this look like a broker at work for an insto?
. Is 'index buying / selling' at work here?
. To what extent are the big players likley to be short/long & what might this mean for future price action [global banks are very short the $Aud for example, if they unwind those positions ..... http://www.cftc.gov/dea/bank/deajun09f.htm ]

Best of good fortune to investors & traders - take care out there folks!
