Mr Rudd and his Labor comrades want to be everyones friend. they want to be loved by all.
They want to show how caring and sharing they are, by being soft on illegal entries into Australia. the problem is, that they don't know how to deal with the problem in an effective manner.
But just to provide a bit of balance. the boat people are only a very small number,in the total of illegals. Believe it or not, the highest percentage of illegals, are from England, who have overstayed their visas.
What really annoys me, is how there is this underlying racial stigma attached to boat people. This discrimination offends me. But, the government must be more pro-active in dealing with the organisers of the racket, and the foreign governments who doing nothing about it.
