PS. Jonkey, I am staying at a place called Hotel Ariston on the Lapad Peninsula and my room overlooks that unnamed rock island with the lighthouse on it. The pool area leads down to natural rocks with deck chairs on them and you simply walk a metre or two from your deck chair and dive into the crystal blue Adriatic. Today was blue sky all over and at a depth of about 10 metres off the rocks, you can clearly see the bottom. Fairly salty but very refreshing after my stroll along the Old Town wall. I have got to make this an annual event and give some of other parts of Europe a miss. No recession here, the place is buzzing with people and a few Aussies in the crowds too I might add.
