So I can’t sleep as the question of what’s in the Greenland tailings has been on my mind. The tailings are around 100 years worth of digging waste and the potential of them is my X factor, cherry on top, for EPM.
Why is this a question? As my research has shown me (and I could still be wrong) the old timers did not export or remove anything other than Cryolite (see my previous ramblings). I only came to this outcome at the end of my research. But my early research hinted at other minerals and I was not at that time mentally ready to believe the old timers left everything bar Cryolite (and they still left some of that).
So tonight. I had my ‘Aha’ moment! I know roughly what’s in the tailings, science has told us 
The same science that started me looking for proven resources of Zinc and Lead in the hole (which I did find in a 1970s report before EPM released info on it)… Th science of environmental monitoring of Pollution levels in the ocean.
The science says there was lead and zinc leaching into the ocean but has been decreasing for almost 20 years (from memory). Decreasing because part of the old wharf was removed from the ocean. The wharf was made out of tailings from the pit. Remove the tailings, remove the zinc and lead and prevent them reacting with the sea water.
The question is now how much lead and zinc is just sitting within the tailings and if REE are mixed in along with Quartz.
How much $$$ are just sitting in a tailings pile waiting to process or ship?
