That post is how any correct observation on this threads ends up... twisted into *** arguments and distractions to claim some win because there is no arguing against my original observation. My disagreement was only against your dangerous and assertion the Cabo Delgado LNG project and pipeline would go ahead, as in

"SA need the gas, follow the pipeline down to see where it will be supplying and also what it will be supplying, the gas project in the north will happen", supported by your previous unreferenced post below (presumably because Total would'nt talk up a losing hand for political/market traction doh)

"Total is putting in 21 billion to build. They have also stated in one of the articles I’ve posted that they are coming back, they are not out for good, they just used it to pull out temporarily"

Prosecuting that considerable doubts exist over completion of LNG/pipeline given escalating terrorism and community discontent over 4 years against foreigners and a Moz gov that sends no money north to a province that 'lost' the last civil war is too easy. Your illogical certainty isn't supported by any facts regardless of cheery picked articles hopeful of a resolution in time... clearly there can be no certainty which is my point.

Wikipedia is a well referenced resource, built up over years of citation, additions and corrections that well summarises the situation for anybody not trying to write a published paper. If this thread disagreed with Wiki's summary of the situation or history of violence then by all means raise the issue, but to attack me for using an easily assessible and valuable referenced resource because you can't argue with my position is the height of hypocrisy and distraction... in short typical for this thread. A blow by blow history of the violence and 160 referenced articles can;t all be lying, or are you saying the Wiki page has been hacked with disinformation to spread propaganda about violence that isn;t really happening?? Embarrassing alright.

My position that a gas pipeline down from the north is at risk of being built in our lifetimes is self-evident, as posted below by @KoiPanda higher up the thread before they piled into a losing fight to argue the opposite. Maybe you should all get together and sort your stories out before ganging up on others, it's embarrassing. Maybe just let reasonable and correct posts stand without the tantrums, I wouldn;t have to defend my position and this thread would be much shorter... or is that too sensible?

"Yes these attacks and the IS rise have been increasing since 2017. It is a real problem to the people residing North of Mozambique. But at the same time, government response is increasing, albeit insignificant to us first worlders. Lets also not forget that there is a +billion dollar gas project sitting there. although Total seems like a bunch of meat heads intending to give up the project, its hard to say that other companies will follow suit. If the Mozambique government doesnt get it shit together, the abandoned project would affect the state's revenue and as a consequence, we could see projects in other regions being fast-tracked approved."
