Seriously what is going on in Yarra Valley and Margaret River? They have/had dedicated sales managers positioned in these regions but continue to see hardly any signups month after month. Why are we struggling to gain traction here? SA continues to blossom and our NZ expansion continues to pay dividends. Matthew Talbot needs to pitch in and get the onboarding ramped up in YV. I can no longer see Nick James-Martin on the website so maybe they have ditched the presence in MR for now.

We received a bit of a trashing on The Age regarding publishing of comparative numbers... whatever :

Popular growth stock Digital Wine Ventures’ subsidiary WineDepot says it shipped more than 25,000 cases of wine in May and has added 24 more wineries to its supplier list. It was also now using Amazon as a distribution channel.

This morning WineDepot told shareholders it received nearly 12,000 orders from retail customers in May, but saw a “negligible” contribution from its new business channel ‘Winedepot Market’ (ha which has been live for one week of June in one city!). The average order size was 2.2 cases.

It shipped 25,284 cases in May and this morning told shareholders this was “up 619 per cent on the same month last year (MoM)” it said in its ASX release. So while the company’s headlines said this increase was ‘month on month’ the figure is actually year on year.

The percentage increase is also confusing because WineDepot released a chart in June 2020 showing it had shipped just over 4,000 cases in May 2020. If this figure was correct, the year on year increase would be around 530 per cent, not 619 per cent.

The company has been approached to clarify the difference.
