The use of terms such as ''birthing parent'' - regardless of whether they are surrogate or not is an indictment on the role of a woman as the gender that gives birth to our offspring. Only women can do this.
I agree only women can do this and it is ridiculous to change mother to birthing person if considering a person who is not a woman is the person giving birth. Go now ask your wife/girlfriend/any woman. The questions, if a woman was to make a contractual agreement to be artificially inseminated and give birth to sell that child to a couple and then have no parental role with that child, would you call her a mother? Would birthing person be a better defined term? Then go ask a lawyer.

Maybe one of the solutions is to let kids be kids and stop trying to fill their tiny heads with all this birthing parent crap
I wouldn't call it crap but don't hold too much rank of importance upon it. I don't think too many kids would be getting this kind of debate in their tiny heads unless parents or other idiots were making hoohaa about it and misinforming those kids with uncertain biased claims.
