re: for the man that dwells in the hills I feel for anyone with mesophelioma(?), but can't help wandering if it's as common as made out. I.E. If as many people as is being suggested will contract it.

Reasoning: I believe I, my family, and friend's families would have been likely candidates.

My family and I came out as displaced migrants in 1950. Together with other people I know, my father was sent to the asbestos mines in Witternoom. They worked in a pit for up to 2 years, little breeze down there, and constantly breathing the dust.

Then in 1953 we built an asbestos shack, which we lived till we finished building our b/t house in 1958. He cut this asb sheeting and repaired it at least once, finally dismantling it.

He died in 1994 from lung cancer, not meso. My mother and the rest of our family are fine,( I realise we could still be likely candidates), so are our many friends who had similar upbringings.

The point being, whilst it was apparently kmown in 1940s about meso, perhaps no one really knew how dangerous it could be. And maybe some here are being a tad harsh on the directors.
