History says otherwise. If i were to utilise the above example again for simplicity, the higher grade and massive resource potential of Simandou was discovered 20 years ago.

So why is it sitting in the ground still untouched ? China is crying out for Iron Ore, the world needs every tonne it can get its hands on right ? Rio Tinto could fund construction in a heartbeat, no need for banks to be involved.

The answer is a lack of infrastructure, political uncertainty, sovereign risk, lack of skilled labour etc (Notice a common theme?)

So here we are mining inferior Iron Ore deposits in more secure locations.......
