Heres my opinion,

Where I work, they treat most of their employees like dirt. Most management have no Rail background at all. Since we have been privitised, people that understood the Rail industry have been replaced with managers from other industries. We use to have one Train Crewing manager and now we have about 6 superintendents running the show. Its a shame to see the rail industry go this way.

We are in the process of negotiating a new Enterprise Agreement and dont be surprised if you see more industrial action again this time around. I just wish they would treat the staff with a bit more respect, they would get more out of them. As the saying goes you get more ants with sugar. QRNational are breathing down their necks, QRNational (Queensland Rail)have just taken 2 contracts off them, due to commence in 2010.

Anyway, these are my views only.
