The short data can be confusing at times. How can 2.2m shorts be closed out when just 1m shares were traded on the day - 10/6/21? Perhaps off market? Similar confusing data has been seen before only to be reversed the next day. Stay tuned.
Shorters are getting emboldened as yesterday 700K fresh shorts were reportedly put in place when 2.8m shares (above normal volume) were traded.
Agree with Gotta. Shorters of oil and gas companies have been winners. However like we patient CVN holders new smart value buyers have reportedly taken big positions in this sector. About the only sector of the market that's been left behind in the amazing bull run. Note to self - It pays to be diversified.
